From Route 79 southeast of Ithaca, do south (right) on Route 38 in Richford. Right after the village, at the "55 MPH" sign, turn right on Andersen Hill Road. This will make a right-angle turn to the west. About 0.3-mile up the hill, watch for the entrance (an old logging road) on the right.
161 acres of open fields and a mature hardwood forest. A tributary of the east branch of the Owego Creek runs through the property, forming a beautiful ravine with a series of small waterfalls and a steep slope of hemlock and yellow birch.
Robinson Hollow State Forest
1,937 acres. Located off Route 79, south of the Tompkins County border.
The high elevations of this state forest seem to hold snow very well when it has disappeared elsewhere.
To access upper reaches of the forest, head to Dryden, then south on Route 38, to Harford.
Turn left on Cheese Factory Rd., then right onto Beam Rd.
Follow to top. Four wheel drive may be required.

Our Beautiful Old Fashioned Covered Bridges truely amazing make a visit before they are gone forever.
NEWFIELD BRIDGE
Samuel Hamm & Sons, David Dassance, and Patchen Parsons built this bridge in 1853
It is the oldest surviving covered bridge still open to daily vehicular traffic.
Located in the Town of Newfield, east of State Route 13 in the Village of Newfield. It is over the west branch of the Cayuga Creek and a single span of 115 feet of Town truss. A Laminated arch was added in 1972 when Milton Graton re-built the bridge.
Directions to the bridge:
Follow the signs on State Route 13, either northbound OR southbound, as you approach Newfield. The bridge is in the center of the village and well marked.
SALISBURY CENTER
Salisbury Center Bridge was originally constructed in 1857 at the home of Alvah Hopson, due to his ailing health. The bridge was later moved to its present location (one of the first pre-fab building projects?) It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 8, 1978. The bridge is located in the Village of Salisbury Center over Spruce Creek.
Directions to the bridge:
Turn off State Route 29 and State Route 29A onto Water Street, by the Library - be sure to see the stained glass window, representing the bridge, at the Library if time permits. Signs clearly mark the way.
HYDE HALL
The Hyde Hall Bridge was originally constructed in 1823 and is the oldest surviving bridge in New York State. Built by Master Carpenter Cyrenus Clark, with assistance from local carpenter Andrew Alden and stone mason Lorenzo Bates, it is registered on the National Register of Historic Places
Located in the Glimmerglass State Park over the Shadow Brook off County Route 31, south of State Route 20. It is 53 feet long and built with a Burr Arch truss. It is still in its original location and has always been a private bridge.
Directions to the bridge:
From East Springfield on State Route 20, go south on County Route 31 to Glimmerglass State Park. Enter the park (they usually do charge admission) and the bridge is approximately 1/4 mile on your right. There is NO PARKING at the bridge, be prepared to walk a little bit.
Jay Bridge
Jay Bridge was originally built in 1857 by George M Burt. It is listed on the New York State Register of Historic Places and has been approved for the National Register of Historic Places once it is put back across the Ausable River (it is currently setting in a field by the river).
Located in the Town of Jay, east of State Route 9N on County Route 22 It is the only covered bridge in the Adirondacks, a Howe truss. It was over the east branch of the Ausable River but is being replaced by a new concrete/iron bridge.
Directions to the bridge:
In Jay, turn east at the park. A sign points the way and in a few yards you will come to the bridge in a field.
BLENHEIM BRIDGE
The Blenheim Bridge was built in 1855 by Nicholas Montgomery Powers, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as of October 15, 1966.
It is located in the Town of Blenheim on State Route 30 in North Blenheim. It is over the Schoharie Creek and is a "double-barreled" or has two separate lanes. This bridge is used on the NYSCBS Logo as it is the longest single span bridge in the world (at 228 feet) and one of only six remaining bridges in the world with two separated lanes.
Directions to the bridge:
Just off State Route 30 at the north end of North Blenheim

Fort Niagara (NY 8)
latitude 43º 15' 42.51"N longitude 77º 3' 27.47"W
Built in 1872 out of local limestone, this is no longer in use (thus the trees which conceal it pretty well from the water). It was taken out of service in 1993.
Take the Robert Moses Parkway as north to the Fort Niagara State Park.
Thirty Mile Point (NY 9)
June 16, 2002
latitude 43º 22' 29.7" N longitude 78º 29'9.1" W
This light was in use from 1875 to 1958 when it was replaced by a steel tower nearby (no picture available)
Take Lake Road (NY 18) east from Fort Niagara 30 miles to Golden Hill State park
Braddock Point (NY 10)
June 16, 2002
This is now a private residence, so viewing is limited.
It's nearly a duplicate of a light that was in Cleveland OH from 1829 to 1895.
The original tower was 110' tall, but had extensive damage so the owners only restored the essence rather than the complete tower.
North of Rochester, take the Lake Ontario State Parkway east to NY 222 (Lighthouse Road). Turn left on Clearview avenue and you'll find the light on the lake side.
Charlotte-Genesee (NY 11)
1822 Lighthouse
November 23, 2001
latitude 43º 15.' 9.7" N longitude 77º 36' 38.5"W

Selkirk (Salmon River (NY 16))
April 11, 2006
latitude 43º 34' 26.5" N longitude 76º 12' 8" W
If you're interested, this light (and the adjacent Marina) is for sale. Note that it has the original "bird cage" housing for the light. All the other lights were upgraded in the 1850's, but since this light was decommissioned in 1858, it was not upgraded. (To get here, follow NY 3 to County Road 5, the go to the end.)
Stony Point (NY 17)
April 11, 2006
latitude 43º 50' 20.8" N longitude 76º 17' 56.4" W
Once again, this light is now a private residence. It was erected in 1869 (replacing a light built in 1830) but deactivated in 1945. From NY 3, take Military Rd on the south side of Henderson Harbor to Lighthouse Road. (As you might expect, take this to the end.) Don't confuse this with the Stony Point on the Hudson River
Galloo Island (NY 18)
latitude 43º 53' 16.7" N longitude 76º 26' 43.3" W
The island is about 12 miles from historic Sackets Harbor, New York, about 10 miles from Henderson Harbor, New York
Tibbett's Point (NY 20)
April 11, 2006
latitude 44º 6' 2.3" N longitude 76º 22' 13.8" W

latitude 44º 20' 45.8" N longitude 75º 54' 40.4" W
This lighthouse can be seen from the shore in Alexandria Bay. The lighthouse can also be seen from tour boats out of Alexandria
Sisters Island (NY 25)
latitude 44º 24' 50.4" N longitude 75º 50' 42" W
Tours are now offered to Singer Castle, which is located downriver from Sisters Island, so the tour boats must pass by the lighthouse
Ogdensburg Harbor (NY 27)
latitude 44º 41' 52.3" N longitude 75º 30' 12.3" W
From NY-37, exit onto NY-68 (Canton St.). From Canton Street, turn right onto State Street to the riverfront. Turn left on Riverside Avenue and drive one block to a park. The lighthouse is on the opposite side of the Oswegatchie River

Located atop a knoll at the west end of the island, about 5 miles (8 km) east southeast of Brewerton.
Accessible only by boat; there are distant views from Lower South Bay on Lakeshore Drive off NY 31 on the south side of the lake, but only the very top of the lighthouse can be seen. Site open, tower closed. Owner/site manager: New York State Canals. ARLHS USA-1045.
Brewerton Range Rear
1918. Active focal plane 92 ft (28 m); continuous red light. 85 ft (26 m) unpainted round concrete tower with gallery; no lantern. The Lighthouse Digest article of February 2001 has a photo (it's the second of the two photos in the article), Dennie Orson has a 2007 photo, and Marinas.com has aerial photos. Located on the north bank of the Oneida River close to county road 37 just west of US 11 in Brewerton. In 2004 the town of Hastings began development of the area around the lighthouse as the Oneida River Park; plans include a small museum in the base of the tower.
