  Take a Sunday ride visit some of New York States Waterfalls.
    We have a abundance of them and all different heights.
   I   am listing some for you and the degree of difficulty to get to them .
    The ones you car view I list as that 
    For hiking into ones I list as that but I give you a degree of difficulty reaching them by foot.
 
 
 
My difficulty Ratings
 
 
1- star means Very Easy - Waterfall can be viewed from road side

2 - stars   Easy- a short walk to reach  and easy trail

3- stars Moderate- Walking along creek or your wlking up hillside

4- stars Strenuos-hardest more hills to climb and might be crossing water involved

Rattlesnake Gulf  Waterfall -     Located in Tully Valley Onondaga Cnty
 
This is a  4  star   due to  downed trees you have to climb over and under.
 
Take rte 81 south to exit 15 head west on route 20 turn south now on route 11A.
 Go past Webster road Nichols road and then turn  Right on Otisco road.
 When your at the first intersection  turn going NORTH on Tully Farms Road.
 Keep watch for the Guardrails on both sides of the road that marks the crossing of Rattlesnake gulf.
Park on Tully Farms Road.
This ones a literal walk in the creek be a kid again !
Enter creek from south side
head upstream
half a mile up creekbed  turns to slate and you pass under a private metal bridge
watch for 1-3 foot cascades of waterfalls
at  1.0 mile in   your at the 25 foot high waterfall finally
 Rattlesnake gulf is part of a mudboil area this means that its Volacno like cones of sandsand silts ,
that do boil out of the earth ! Back in 1991 depressurizing wells and channels built to stop problems
caused by these mudboils. Today you cant see the boils but they are cooking underground !

Fellow Falls  Located in Tully

This is a 1  star  can car view this one

Take Rte 81 south to Tully exit  15 head west on Route 80
 go Past Tully Farms road and Long road look for Woodmancy Road  Turn there its a right turn.
When you pass Hidden falls road you cross the bridge park just past the bridge to view.

Marcellus Falls    Onondaga County
This is a 1 star

 Take Rte 5 west to route 174 go South this runs through the township of Marcellus
Watch for the Brown sign for the falls  there is public parking for viewing on the East side of the Road
 by the sign.  This stream is known as Nine Mile creek .
The trail  to see the falls is blacktop paved

Stockbridge Falls Madison Cnty Oneida Creek
This is a 1  star

 Take rte 46 south from Oneida through township of Stockbridge and Munnsville.
Turn Right when you see Pratts Road
Turn Right on Stockbridge Falls Road
 See this one from the Road only 100 feet high very pretty

Wolcott Falls
 
 
This one is split depending on what choice you make for viewing this waterfall
1 Star for viewing from Parking lot can see alot of it

3 Stars for hiking in to base WORTH IT !
 
Take Rte 104 west  to Wolcott hLook for Whiskey Hollow Road it turns into New Hartford street
go up about 0.8 mile turn Right on main street at statue of Venus
Take first Left on Oswego aka rte 163 turn left into Wolcott falls Parking lot.
Great falls good misting off the falls on a hot day

Oak Tree Falls       Ovid Seneca County

This is a 3 star

Take Route 89 halfway down to westside of Cayuga lake.
Turn East on Weyers road go down to lakeshore and park along Weyers Point Road just after crosses creek
Hike takes about 1 hour watch for  small loose  rocks along way.

New Hope Mills Falls

This is a 1  star
 
This is 17 miles south of Skaneateles on Route 41 A
on 41 A turn east on Glen Haven Road in Village of New Hope
Turn left into New Hope Mills Lot
 from the parking lot cross the covered bridge to get view of lower waterfall
walk up Glen Haven road to see  the upper waterfall
New Hope Mills is a Real Factory that Makes I think The BEST Pancake Mix on the Market today.
See the Huge Waterwheel thats 26 foot tall  in the water that used to run  the plants machines.
Visit the Bldg Store for some great Pancake Mix and other things.

Filmore Glen Falls in the State Park Moravia

This is a 4 star

Route 38 turn east into Filmore Glen State Park
At the Entrance Gate Turn Right go Past the Camping area
Take next left by sign Old Bath house
Park in the area near lifeguard and first aid station house
 From parking area head through pavillion toward swimming area
go past the  dammed up swimming area
 when at the T turn left cross over arch stoned bridge
 after bridge turn Right ontotrail to Cow Sheds area
when at 0.2 trail dead ends at base of cow shedsView cascade then turn around
go back on trail to bridge cross bridge continue straight up 138 steps on Gorge trail
At the top bear LEFT stay on Gorge Trail
Go down 36 steps to Observation area overlooking Cow Sheds
turn right now continue upstream on the trail
at 0.6 mile you cross first of 8 bridges over dry creek
bridge 2 comes up fast then 0.1 roughly to cross bridge 3 and 4
at the base of a set of staiirs look around its a great view of the falls
 watch for chutes and drops on trail !
When your at 1.2 miles in you cross bridges 5 and 6 with more small chutes and drops be carful
at 1.3 look across the creek to see cascades from the waterfalls beautiful sight
 Now cross bridge 7 head uphill now
 watch fo 20 foot cascade at the bend in the creek
enjoy the water falling down over the mossy shale rocks
bridge 8 heads to a sheltor and South Rim Trail DO NOT CROSS Over Continue Straight heading uphill
 at about 1.9 mile turn LEFT head UP Gorge Trail theres a Sign
the Trail to the right leads to a Dam and South Rim Road with a parking lot unless you want to see
 that bypass it    At 2.0 miles  you see North Rim Trail  Sign Turn Left  There go into Hemlock Woods
at 2.3 miles bear left onto trail  snowmobile trail runs to   the right
continue 2.4 miles past the side trail to the left walk past this one also
At 2.8 mile you cross a bridge with a creek
continue downhill passing another trail on the left side
at 3.5 mile the trail grows steeper nowit has steps now
here you pass high above Cow Sheds area when there arent leaves you see the falls from there
go Past the swimming area and Bathhouse
at the parking area turn LEFT use the bridge to cross dry creek to get back to parking area.
